Environmental Laws

Our existing Environmental Laws, both state and federal level, can work to assist in protecting our environment. Unfortunations, most of our government agencies are short on staf and funds, so it takes the keen observation of the public to notice when the laws are not being followed and take actions to make certain they are.

Friends of Fawnskin works for you to monitor environmental law compliance. As part of our educational mission, we also give complementary  presentations to groups who would like to learn more about our he laws and what actions the public can take. If you would like more information, please contact us today to make arrangements!

Eagle Cam Notice

Tues 7/17/18 While the nest is still mainly empty at this time between seasons, there has been a lot of activity in it over the past couple weeks. Shadow, the unbanded 3-year-old, makes visits to the nest a few times a week, usually doing a bit of 'housekeeping' and sometimes sitting on the surrounding limbs for a few hours at a time. Jackie visits the nest less frequently, still often bites at Shadow, and sometimes spends the night on her favorite limb. Two days ago Jackie and Mr. B were both at the nest tree at the same time--Mr. B brought a very large stick, but put it on the pile of sticks on the limbs below the nest. Check updates and photos on our facebook page "Friends of Big Bear Valley and Big Bear Eagle Nest Cam"
